What is a Comprehensive eye exam?
Visiting an eye health professional at least once a year is crucial even if you have no complaints at all for many eye and vision problems ,such as glaucoma ,present with no obvious signs or symptoms most of the time. When the symptoms start to be seen, serious damage has already occured to optic nerves which is why early detection and treatment are keys to preventing the loss of vision from glaucoma.
For infants and children , most childhood ophthalmic disorders may not be easy to detect early on. Infants ,in particular, may not give verbal ocular complaints therefore comrehensive eye exam is not to be overlooked. Undetected pediatric ophthalmic disorders may cause potential visual impairments.
