All children should have comprehensive eye exam on a regular basis starting from birth. First examination is performed at birth in neonatal care unit by pediatists . After that at the sixth and eighteenth month an eye exam by an eye doctor. The infant can be examined under general anesthesia if the complicated procedures require so.
